Check if there is a blue light on your computer, this would mean that you have added the pins in correctly.
If you don't have a blue light showing, you might need to go back to your initial steps! When you built your kit, you should have connected the wires to the pins. Make sure you've connected the right wire to the correct two pins! This would prevent your sound from working and the blue lights wouldn't show.
Testing the Speaker
To find out whether your speaker isn't playing because of the speaker or because of the software, it would be best to test it. We can do this by simply plugging the speaker into your phone and play your favourite tune, and see whether the speaker plays it.
Diagnosing the Speaker
If you've played your tune and the speaker works, then this could indicate that this is an issue with the software. If you tried but no sound was coming from the speaker, this could mean that there is an issue with the speaker directly - please let us know!
Using your TV Speakers
If you're using your computer on your TV, did you know you can use your TV's speakers instead?
From the desktop, click on the cog wheel icon in the bottom right corner and then click Audio.
From the dashboard, click on the cog wheel to open your settings.
Click on Audio.
Choose TV as the sound output device. Then click apply changes.
When you close Kano Settings, it will ask you to reboot. Do this for your changes to be applied.
That's it! Now use your TV's remote to set the volume and you're ready to go.
Still can't hear your tune? Please submit a request.
