If the Powerup kit shows an error code that says "LED not connected", it means the Raspberry Pi 1 and Raspberry Pi 2 aren't connecting properly, and therefore it cannot send the necessary information to light up the LED board.
In order to verify if your Raspberry Pi's are properly connected, please check the following:
- LED Board should light up the word KANO when powered up.
- All parts should be connected according to the manual. Please check whether the yellow LED is lit at both ends of the green ethernet cable (on the Pi 2 or B+ it's in the ethernet socket and on the Pi B it's on the other side with '100' written next to it).
Note: The 'click' noise the ethernet cable does when plugged in doesn't necessarily indicate it is connected.
- After all parts are connected (with the exception of the red power cable), please power up the Pi 1 first, wait a few seconds, and only then power up the Pi 2.
