Why isn't my device listed as compatible with the Harry Potter Kano Coding Kit?
It's perfectly understandable that you would want to know if your specific device is compatible, this is especially true where tablets are concerned. The problem is, there's a huge selection to choose from. Sometimes, from the same manufacturer!
Keeping track of every model from every manufacturer would simply be impossible especially since a manufacturer may need to make a slight change to a product line without updating the specifications. This happens all the time in manufacturing and for the most part, it doesn't affect anyone, but sometimes changing a particular chipset, for instance, can impact whether or not two devices can connect.
For this reason, we state the minimum requirements above and advise that the best solution is to speak directly to the manufacturer of your device.
The most important thing across the board will be Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE or BT LE). This is a subset of Bluetooth® that was available from version 4.0 of the Bluetooth standard onward but was not necessarily incorporated into the chipset (that would be up to the manufacturer). From Bluetooth® 4.2, you should be able to expect BLE is automatically incorporated.
